Topic:An Educational Perspective on Supply Chain Management and Entrepreneurship, and Green/Sustainable Supply Chain Research

Time:10:00-12:00 am, 3rdJuly

Location:A928

Lecturer:Dr. Amy Z. Zeng

Seminar Abstract: This seminar is comprised of two parts. The first part explores a new direction of pedagogical innovation in response to current buzz on college entrepreneurship – how to integrate entrepreneurship into supply chain management and logistics curriculum to expand students’ entrepreneurial perspective. The two subjects are usually taught separately in business classrooms, and yet the knowledge and skillsets are inseparable and indispensable when it comes to planning and launching new business ventures. The first part of the seminar describes how to use course projects designed based on real start-ups in supply chain and logistics courses to expand students’ entrepreneurial mindset and points out the intersection of these two subjects so as to expand the respective curriculum. The second part of the seminar discusses green/sustainable supply chains – a hot topic at the forefront of today’s supply chain management, and shares some of my current research projects and findings in this area.
