摘要:Over the last few years, there has been a rapid emergence of new technologies (such as Uber, Didi, Waze etc) that have transformed transportation systems in unprecedented manner. This trend is expected to continue with rapid advances in technology, growth of connected and self-driving cars and availability of very large volumes of data. In the transportation network modeling community, many investigations have explored the potential of these technologies especially as they relate to smarter mobility in cities. There is a need to develop new modeling framework and opportunities that exist in this space. This series of lectures will discuss recent advances in smart mobility analytics based on work at Professor Ukkusuri’sUrban Mobility Networks and Intelligence Lab at Purdue University.

Lecture 1 will describe smart mobility, the key drivers and enablers of the new research in smart mobility and the opportunities and the challenges of new modeling. Lecture 2 will focus on taxi data analytics with a particular focus on demand side of the picture such as demand prediction and understanding the underlying factors that drive the growth in taxi cabs (both vacant and full trips). Lecture 3 will focus on the supply side of the taxi data analytics (e.g. travel time estimation, surge price prediction). Lecture 4 will focus on social media data analytics. If time permits, Lecture 5 will discuss advances in connected and autonomous vehicle research.

主讲人简介:

Satish V. Ukkusuri is a Professor in the Lyles School of Civil Engineering, Director of the Urban Mobility Networks and Intelligence Lab and Co-lead of the Sustainable Communities Cluster at Purdue University. His research is in the area of interdisciplinary transportation networks with current interests in data driven mobility solutions, disaster management, resilience of interdependent networks, connected and autonomous traffic systems, shared mobility platforms, dynamic traffic networks and smart logistics. He is a University Faculty Scholar (2017-present), Fulbright Fellow (2015-16), Discovery Park Fellow (2013-15), a selectee of the National Academy of Engineering (NAE) JAFOE conference (2016), a selectee of the National Academy of Science (NAS) Arab American Frontiers of Science, Engineering and Medicine in 2017 and a CUTC/ARTBA Faculty Award (2011) among other awards both nationally and at Purdue. He has published more than 250 peer reviewed journal and conference articles. He is an Area Editor of Networks and Spatial Economics and an Academic Editor of PLOS One among other editorial duties. He is a member of several national and international committees, including the TRB’s Freight Logistics and Planning Committee, Emergency Evacuation Modeling Committee and a past member of the Network Modeling Committee.
